Robotic General Surgery

What types of surgery are there?

There are several reasons you might need surgery performed by a general surgeon: gallbladder problems, reflux that is resistant to medications, or a hernia in your groin or abdominal wall. While most of our surgeries are performed robotically, we do offer open and laparoscopic surgery as well. We will discuss your specific needs and how they can best be addressed, allowing you to chose the right option for you!

Why I Robot...

Robotic Assisted Surgery has been proven safe, effective, and beneficial. With traditional laparoscopy, the surgeon operates with 2D vision (no depth perception) and rigid sticks (like chopsticks with pinchers at the end). With robotics, the surgeon gains 3D visualization and wristed instruments (they move like your wrists). This provides for superior visualiztion and instrument movement which translates in to easier and safer surgery for you!
