Welcome to the Premier Bariatric Practice

Welcome

Welcome to The Premier Bariatric Practice and congratulations on taking your first step toward your New Life! The most recent literature from January 2023 demonstrates a “reduced all-cause mortality… for multiple decades, for multiple bariatric surgical procedures, for males and females, and for greater than age 34 years at surgery.”[1]  In other words, bariatric surgery doesn’t just change lives, it saves lives!

At Premier, we strive to provide a personal approach to your weight-loss journey. This journey is rewarding and effective; it will give you the results you desire but will require you to work with us as a team to accomplish your goals. I will see you monthly for Physician Supervised Weight-Loss (PSWL) visits. During these appointments, expect me to be your cheerleader and your coach. I will applaud you for your wins but also help you grapple with reality and make those changes that will be life-long. It will require commitment to sacrifice your old habits and use this as your ultimate tool to achieve success in reclaiming your health and self-esteem. Bariatric surgery is proven to work, and you can do this!

I am Dr. Freshour and am glad to be your coach and your cheerleader throughout this journey. During these first few months, you will be working on lifelong changes that will become easier each day, especially after surgery. The most important thing you can work on is your relationship with food. You do not have to give up the foods you love to be successful! You just have to learn to incorporate them in a healthy way. The number one reason people “fail” diets is because they make certain foods “off limits”. Then, when they eat those off-limit foods, they feel guilty then they eat more of them then they just quit because the diet is “not working”. Sound familiar? Let’s break this pattern!
